Vanessa Michel combined her passion for yoga and her commitment to support women in war-torn regions by hosting an event celebrating International Women’s Day. This event offered a mini-yoga session and mediation. Michel engaged her guests by providing information about Women for Women International’s programs, such as financial and emotional support, rights awareness and leadership education, and job skills training.
House parties are a great way to encourage dialogue about the challenges that these women survivors of war face – and how you can help provide these women with the tools they need to re-build their lives and their communities. To learn more about hosting your own event, visit our Get Involved page.

On International Women’s Day, women around the world join together in celebration of the intelligence, strength, courage and beauty of women. Since 1908 this has been a day to celebrate the achievements of women around the world without regard to their national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political differences.
This year, we join together with our supporters to celebrate the economic and social achievements of women. We honor the women who work to overcome the food crisis in their communities and put food on the table for their families. These women are not waiting for a bailout but are instead learning the skills and techniques of sustainable organic farming to feed their families and support themselves.
Wondering how you can participate in International Women’s Day?
