West Chester University’s performances of The Vagina Monologues to support Women for Women International.

As part of the 2009 V-Day College Campaign, the students of West Chester University are proud to present a benefit production of The Vagina Monologues to raise awareness and funds for local organizations working to end violence against women and girls. This year, proceeds from the show will be donated to Women for Women International, the Domestic Violence Center of Chester County, and The Crime Victims Center of Chester County.

The performances will be held on April 4th at 7 PM and April 5th at 2pm. All shows will be held at the Emilie K. Asplundh Concert Hall at West Chester University, located at the intersection of High Street and University Avenue.

 Tickets are $5 for West Chester University students and other students with valid ID. Tickets for the public are $10. Tickets may be purchased at the SSI Office in the bottom floor of Sykes Student Union, which is located on 110 W. Rosedale Avenue, West Chester, PA 19393. They can also be purchased by calling 610-436-2984 or by showing up the night of the production at the box office.

Wine Tasting Party in North Carolina

Jones-Ingham Executive and Sales Recruiting and Body by Design Studio are hosting a women only Wine Tasting Party with a Purpose on June 6^th 2008 from 7-9pm at the Body by Design Studio. This is a newly established quarterly event by Kristy Jones, president of Jones-Ingham Executive in March. At her first event, a small group of 8 gathered and donated money as well as everyone committed to sponsoring a sister and to get together every 3 months to give news and read letters and show pictures of their sisters. They also committed to bring friends in order to grow their group to promote the Women for Women International and to get more sister sponsors. The events have the purpose of bringing old and new friends together with a common purpose of helping women survivors of war around the world rebuild their lives and communities.

Door prizes will be given at the June 6^th event (free personal training sessions, gift certificate to Primp Salon Bar, and many others!)

Studio 2600 hosts event for Women for Women International in Dallas, TX!

In honor of Mothers on Mother’s Day, Studio 2600 will host a fundraiser for Women for Women International. Both an artistic center and gallery, Studio 2600 is a non-traditional blend of working studio and boutique showcasing unique artworks by emerging and established artists and craftsmen.

The fundraiser will be held Friday, May 9th from 5-7 p.m. at Studio 2600 in the historic State Thomas district of Uptown at 2600 Hibernia at Routh, just one block east of McKinney in Dallas, TX.
