Run for Congo Women Registration now open for Colorado, Oregon, and Arizona!

It’s time again for Run for Congo Women, an inspirational run, walk, or hike that supports Women for Women International’s work in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In only a few years, it has blossomed into a global movement with a very simple message: Congolese lives matter. The lives of Congolese women are significant. The lives of Congolese children are precious. They have waited far too long. They are worth our effort. We are running to help.

I want to do a run in San Jose for Run for Congo women. Can anyone help with this. I do not know where to start.Thanks. I will be grateful for information so we can have a run in San Jose.

We don’t have plans to launch a Run for Congo Women in San Jose at this time but here’s how you can introduce the movement there:

      1) We just launched an online fundraising site designed for people who live in areas where we don’t have existing runs. This way, if you find a local run to participate in, or if you’d like to just put your running shoes on and take a run on your own, you can devote your run to the women we serve by setting up a fundraising page at You just set up your page, send the link to your friends and family, and then they donate securely online to your effort. The funds come directly to our organization. You can even set up a fundraising page for a non-running event (example: if you’d like to host a dinner party fundraiser, you can ask your guests to “RSVP” by making a donation on your webpage).

      2) You can host your own run/walk! If this is the route you choose, I’m happy to help steer you in the right direction and answer any specific questions you might have. I can also send you some of our materials (brochures, etc) to help you spread the word in your area.

      3) Help us spread the word! Be sure to become a fan on our Facebook page for Women for Women International and for Run for Congo Women! Watch some of our videos ( and then share them with friends and family!

      4) If you’d like to stay in the loop about news and upcoming events that might be happening in your area, just provide me a mailing address and we’ll add you to our database for communications.

If you have any other questions, let us know!
