Mary Baldwin College creates a Mother’s Day card to benefit Women for Women International

Mary Baldwin Mother's Day Card

Students from Mary Baldwin College who attended this year’s  Clinton Global Initiative University have developed a Mother’s Day card featuring alumna Anna Jarvis.   Jarvis is credited as the founder and original champion of Mother’s Day.  She envisioned it as a day to reflect on and communicate a person’s love for her mother through a personalized message.

The card features a portrait of Jarvis on the front with the words, “Mother’s Day is in honor of the best Mother who ever lived–the Mother of your heart.”  Inside, there is a paragraph detailing Jarvis’ inspiration for the national and international holiday, with space for a personal message to the mothers in your life.

Proceeds from the sale of these cards will benefit Women for Women International.  What better way to show your appreciation for all the mothers of the world?

Cards are $4, and can be purchased at the Mary Baldwin Bookstore or by calling 540-887-7264 or emailing books@mbc.edu
