WfWI Ambassador holds two Concerts for Congo!

On July 1, Mary’s Music Store in Clarksville, Tennessee hosted yet another Concert for Congo! Local guitar students participated in the event debuting as classical guitar quartets and duos.

Bella Sullivan, age seven, started off the night with a classical guitar duet arrangement of “My Heart will Go On” and followed her performance with a presentation about Kids for Congo, for which she sold paper flowers. Bella’s mother, Karen Sullivan, a first year student of guitar, performed an arrangement of John Lennon’s “Imagine.”

Vanessa Green, Hannah Denson, Jessie Marinau, Rachel Davis of the high school group performed a Renaissance quartet composed by Tielman Susato. Nashville songwriter Deli Neblitt ended the evening with a special guest performance.

Twenty audience members enjoyed listening to daughters, nieces, and girlfriends perform their debut concert while giving money to help build a sponsorship fund for a Congolese sister through Women for Women International.

This was the second Concert for Congo. The first was held on June 4, 2011.
