Half the Sky Exhibit in Los Angeles!

Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn’s book, Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide, highlights how renewed focus on the world’s women and girls can end many of the world’s ills. The book also tells the story of Claudine, one of our program participants in Rwanda, and how her life was changed when a kindhearted American woman named Murvelene chose to sponsor her.

The book has now been translated into a new museum exhibit, and we are honored to be featured in it! The new Women Hold Up Half the Sky exhibit will run at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles from October 27, 2011 through March 11, 2012. It will bring to life the themes and stories from the book through visual art, immersive sound installations, and interactive experiences.

We encourage our Los Angeles area supporters to visit the Skirball for this truly unique experience.
