Margaret O’Brien is a disabled engineer who has used music and art as therapy to cope with chronic health problems for the past 12 years, and to express who she is, not to mention the joy of creating. Her quilts are hand-painted and then machine quilted. Her songs are all original folk songs, played on a mountain dulcimer with vocals. She created a Facebook page to show the ArtQuilts and songs, and then found “Shop To Stop Slavery,” a group that spreads awareness of human trafficking. They put out a Holiday Catalog, so she placed an ad, with the commitment to donate with every sale, to four non-profits that benefit women. One of these, of course, is Women for Women, International.
